The Gainesville boys tennis team knocked off South Paulding in the first round of the Class 6A state tournament, easily dispatching the Spartans 5-0 at Longwood Park on Monday.

Dylan Pineda, Philip Mady and Ben Burns all took home singles victories, while teams of Michael Head/Caleb Anderson and Joseph Diaz/Matthew Carter won in doubles. The Red Elephants won every match in straight sets.

Gainesville will advance to take on the winner of Johns Creek and River Ridge next week.
