High school tennis: Flowery Branch picks up boys, girls tennis wins against Chestatee

Drayton Matus, Jack Thomas and Gunnar Hetzel all won singles matches for the Flowery Branch boys in a 5-0 win against Chestatee on Tuesday. Teams of Caden Caldwell/Matthew Helms and Maricio Castro/Nathan Shedd took home doubles victories. 

The Falcons face Blessed Trinity on Wednesday in Roswell.

FLOWERY BRANCH GIRLS 4, CHESTATEE 1: Annabelle Thomas, Alyssa McSpadden and Olivia Nance all picked up singles wins. The team of Julianna Velaj/Madison Sewick claimed a doubles victory. 

With the win, the Lady Falcons are now 8-3 to start the year, and 2-0 in Region 7-4A. 

GAINESVILLE BOYS 5, WINDER-BARROW 0: Philip Mady and Dylan Pineda led the way with a pair of 6-0,6-0 wins in singles. Ben Burns also won a singles match, while teams of Michael Head/Caleb Anderson and Joseph Diaz/Matthew Carter won in doubles. The win puts Gainesville at 3-0 in Region 8-6A matches. 

The Red Elephants face Habersham Central on Tuesday in Mount Airy.

BUFORD BOYS 5, WALNUT GROVE 0: Dean Kingsley, Luke Davidson and Dylan Appling all won singles matches. Todd Goehmann/Kyle Ryczek and Cameron Tidwell/Caleb Williamson won in doubles for the Wolves (8-2, 3-0 Region 8-5A).

Buford hosts Johnson today.

BUFORD GIRLS 5, WALNUT GROVE 0: Callie Perkins, Caroline Henderson and Sydney Ryder picked up singles wins for the Lady Wolves (7-3, 3-0 Region 8-5A). Sydney Grothe/Olivia Hundley and Sophie Brewer/Taylor Ryczek took home doubles victories. 

The Lady Wolves will take on Johnson at home today.
