High school tennis: Buford boys top Starr's Mill in state semifinals
Wolves will face Flowery Branch for state championship Saturday in Rome

The Buford High boys tennis team will make their first-ever Class 5A state championship appearance, after defeating defending state champion Starr’s Mill 3-0 in the state semifinals on Tuesday in Fayetteville. 

With the win, Buford will face Flowery Branch for the state championship at 2 p.m. Saturday at Berry College in Rome. 

Winning for the Wolves were Dalton Counts in No. 2 singles (6-0, 6-0), Luke Davidson in No. 3 singles (6-1, 6-0) and Trent Milton/Kurt Knudsen in No. 2 doubles (6-4, 6-4).

Buford defeated Flowery Branch in the Region 8-5A championship match this season. This will be the third time that these two rivals meet in 2018.
