High school softball: Flowery Branch's Harris named Pitcher of the Year in Region 8-4A

Flowery Branch sophomore left-handed pitcher Nikki Harris was tabbed Region 8-4A Pitcher of the Year on Monday, after recording a 13-2 mark and allowed just six earned runs and 91 hits over 103 1/3 innings in the pitching circle. The Lady Falcons placed four players on First-Team All-Region. In 2020, Flowery Branch won the region championship, its first outright title in program history, and made it to the second round of the postseason. 

Also for Flowery Branch, Aubrey Bourrie (.456 average, one home run and 14 RBIs), Makaela Davis (.414 average, three home runs and 27 RBIs) and Savanna Rutledge (.384 average and only six strikeouts in 95 plate appearances) were all First-Team selections. For East Hall, Callie Dale made First-Team All-Region. For the Lady Vikings, three players were Second-Team All-Region picks, including Calli Hardison, Alexis Burce and Abi Mullins. 

Chestatee’s Ashlyn Gibbs and Makayla Hunt were both Second-Team All-Region selections.
