High school softball: Buford beats Locust Grove, Etowah at Grayson tourney

Mariah Wicker had three hits and scored five runs for the Buford softball team in an 8-7 win against Locust Grove in the Ram Classic on Saturday in Grayson. The Lady Wolves (9-7) won the second game of the day 9-1 in five innings against Etowah.

In Game 1, Kaitlyn Perkins picked up the victory by pitching four solid innings of relief. Anabel Adams was 2 for 4 with two extra-base hits, while Hannah Morgan had two hits and a double.

Abbi Perkins drove in a pair of runs for the Lady Wolves. 

Against Etowah, Amelia Veal earned the win with five innings of three-hit ball. Abbi Perkins had a double, triple and two RBIs. 

Morgan had a two-run homer for Buford, while Shea Bayreuther had two hits and scored twice. 

On Tuesday, Buford visits Loganville at 5:55 p.m.
