High school scoreboard: Winters scores 18 as East Hall girls earn first win

Carly Winters paced the East Hall High girls basketball team with 18 points in a 69-51 win against Woodville-Tompkins on Tuesday in the Joe Greene Classic in Savannah.

The Lady Vikings (1-2) received 13 points from Tessa Rider and another 10 from Maggie Griffin. Macy Thomas and Jenny Lopez scored nine points apiece for East Hall, which faces Banks County at 4 p.m. Saturday in Homer.

NORTH HALL GIRLS 61, COAHULLA CREEK 42: Grace Hollifield racked up a team-high 13 points, Ansleigh Ferguson added a double-double (12 points, 10 boards) and the Lady Trojans (1-1) found the win column for the first time this season. Also for North Hall, Macy Gillespie dished a team-high six assists. 

North Hall travels to Cleveland next for a non-region game with White County at 6 p.m. on Nov. 28.

BUFORD GIRLS 57, HOLY INNOCENTS 45: Tory Ozment scored 19 points as the Lady Wolves won the Craig Sager Memorial Tournament championship Tuesday in Dacula.

Audrey Weiner provided 13 points for Buford (3-0).

UNION GROVE BOYS 41, FLOWERY BRANCH 37: Justin Quick notched 17 points for the Falcons (2-1) on Tuesday in the Apalachee Thanksgiving Tournament. Flowery Branch returns to action against Lanier at 5:30 p.m. Saturday in Flowery Branch.

NORCROSS BOYS 70, LAKEVIEW ACADEMY 44: Drew Cottrell produced 20 points for the Lions on Tuesday in the Piedmont College Hardwood Classic. Holden Cooper and Jack Blackburn recorded six points apiece.

Lakeview Academy’s next game is against St. Francis on Nov. 28 in Alpharetta.

NORCROSS GIRLS 67, LAKEVIEW ACADEMY 31: Jackie Allen scored 14 points for the Lady Lions on Tuesday in the Piedmont College Hardwood Classic. Lakeview Academy (0-2) travels to face St. Francis at 6 p.m. Nov. 28.

LANIER  GIRLS 68, DAWSON COUNTY 52: Kaylee Sticker poured in 33 points as the Lady Tigers fell in the Tiger Classic Championship on Tuesday. Dawson County returns to action with a home game against West Hall on Dec. 1.

BANKS COUNTY BOYS 94, HART COUNTY 58: Carl Cleveland registered 28 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Leopards to a season-opening victory Tuesday.

Dylan Orr had 15 points, Gabe Martin pitched in 11 and Darius Bonds tallied 10 points with seven assists. Wes Ledford and Dakota Orr each scored eight points for Banks County (1-0), which hosts East Hall on Saturday.

BANKS COUNTY GIRLS 79, HART COUNTY 63: Maddie Thomas hit five 3-pointers as part of a 24-point effort to lift the Lady Leopards to a season-opening win Tuesday in Homer.

Allison Smith scored 20 points for Banks County (1-0), sinking 10-of-13 free throws, while teammate Jaycie Bowen contributed 11 points. The Lady Leopards host East Hall at 4 p.m. Saturday.
