High school golf scoreboard: Gainesville girls win Area 2-6A championship
Lady Red Elephants will compete for state championship May 21-22

The Gainesville High girls golf team shot a combined score of 271 to win the Class 6A Area 2 championship on Monday at the Bartram Trail Golf Course in Evans. 

With the 6A Area 2 crown, the Lady Red Elephants earned a berth in the state championship May 21-22 in Jekyll Island. Lakeside-Evans was the runner-up with a score of 290, while Lanier’s team score of 302 was good for third place.

NORTH HALL BOYS EARN AREA RUNNER-UP: Georgia Tech signee Bartley Forrester paced North Hall with a tournament-low 68 as the Trojans finished as Class 3A Area 3 runners-up Monday at Chestatee Golf Club in Dawsonville.

North Hall shot a team score of 317 to come in second behind Hart County and punch a ticket to the state championship May 21-22 at Cateechee Golf Club in Hartwell. Michael Kallab carded a score of 78 for the Trojans, while teammate Jake Riley shot an 84. 

North Hall received an 87 from Chase Metcalf and a 94 from both Camden Gillespie and Ben Boyd.
