High school golf: Gainesville girls tie for 8th place at Bear's Best

The Gainesville High girls golf program combined for a four-person total of 189 to tie for eighth place at the Lady Wolves Invite on Saturday at Bear’s Best Golf Club in Suwanee. 

Counting toward the Lady Red Elephants’ scores were Morgan Nichol, Karina Collins, Ashlyn Burch and Kaylee Bautista. 

Woodward Academy won with a team-total of 145. 

Marist finished second, while Mill Creek took third.

CHATTAHOOCHEE MEN’S GOLF ASSOCIATION: Scott Adams won the first flight, while Bill Oliver took second in the Chattahoochee Men’s Golf Association net-strokes, individual-flighted competition on Wednesday. 

Bob Henderson won the second flight, while Bob Pine finished second. Closest to the pin winners were Adams (No. 3), Charles Chamberlin (No. 5), Gene Weschler (No. 12) and Clayton Bartlett on No. 17.
