High school baseball scoreboard: Campbell's dominant pitching performance leads East Hall to victory

Trey Campbell recorded 12 strikeouts, allowed one earned run and permitted two hits in 6 ⅓ innings on the mound in the East Hall baseball team's 4-1 win against Lumpkin County on Tuesday. 

Campbell retired 14 batters in a row during his outing.

Both Tripp Rider and a Mike Matuska were 2 for 3 for the night for the Vikings. Taylor Smith drove in two runs for East Hall.

JEFFERSON 2, NORTH OCONEE 1: Mason Cooper had an RBI for Jefferson on Tuesday. Patrick Hickox was the winning pitcher for the Dragons (8-5, 1-0 Region 8-4A), totaling five strikeouts in seven innings.

Jefferson plays North Oconee at 5:55 p.m. today in Jefferson.

HEBRON CHRISTIAN 10, LAKEVIEW ACADEMY 8: Campbell Melson had four RBIs for Lakeview Academy on Tuesday in Gainesville. 

Skyler Thellman was 2 for 4 with two doubles for the Lions (6-7). Lakeview Academy’s Sam Stewart was 1 for 2 with a triple and two runs scored, while teammate JD Roark finished the night 2 for 4 at the plate. KJ Millwood and Holden Cooper each had a single for the Lions.

Lakeview Academy hosts Tallulah Falls at 4:30 p.m. Friday.
