ATLANTA — Georgia Tech women's basketball coach MaChelle Joseph agreed to a new four-year, $1.3 million contract after guiding the Yellow Jackets to a second straight appearance in the NCAA tournament.

Joseph has led the school to a number of milestones over the past two years: first NCAA tournament victory, first back-to-back appearances in the tournament, and first consecutive 20-win seasons.

"MaChelle has certainly ratcheted up the program in a number of ways," athletic director Dan Radakovich said. "She and her staff have worked extremely hard in recruiting, coaching and in gaining awareness in the city of Atlanta. This is definitely a program on the rise."

Joseph has a record of 84-66 in five seasons as head coach.

"We have been given a great opportunity to build something special at Georgia Tech," Joseph said. "We have great kids and an administration that is committed to building a national power in women's basketball."
