University of Georgia redshirt sophomores Knowshon Moreno and Darryl Gamble each earned weekly awards from the Southeastern Conference on Monday.

Gamble was named Defensive Player of the Week and Moreno earned his third Offensive Player of the Week of the season after their performances in the Bulldogs’ 52-38 win against LSU on Saturday in Baton Rouge.

Gamble, a 6-2, 247-pound linebacker, returned two interceptions for touchdowns, including one on the very first play of the game. He tied the NCAA and SEC record for touchdown interceptions among linebackers.

Moreno, a 5-11, 208-pound tailback, rushed for 163 yards and one touchdown on 21 carries for Georgia. It was his 11th career 100-rushing yard game.
