For more than four decades, the gravelly voice of Larry Munson has begged his beloved Georgia Bulldogs to hunker down. Nearly every significant play since 1966 has a classic Munson play-by-play call, from Rex Robinson's thrilling field goal against Kentucky, to Herschel Walker's first touchdown, to sugar falling from the sky in Auburn and hobnail boots smashing noses in Knoxville.
But what is Munson's greatest call? We asked our readers to pick which call they think is Larry Munson's most memorable and they responded.
In 1980, with a shot at the national championship game on the line, the Bulldogs were down to Florida and backed up to Florida's goal line with time in the game for only one play. What happened next will live in Georgia lore for the rest of time and is, according to 50 percent of those responding, Larry Munson's finest moment.
