Georgia running back Knowshon Moreno was named a finalist for the 2008 Doak Walker Award on Monday.

Moreno, a redshirt sophomore, is the only finalist from the Southeastern Conference for the award, which is given to the nation’s top running back.

Moreno has rushed for 1,244 yards this season, making him the second running back in Bulldogs history along with Hershel Walker to rush for 1,000 or more yards in consecutive seasons.

Moreno is currently seventh all-time among Georgia rushers with 2,578 rushing yards in two seasons.
