Georgia’s Jasmine James was named the Southeastern Conference’s Freshman of the Week for women’s basketball on Monday by the league office in Birmingham, Ala.

James was also named as such on Nov. 16, Nov. 30 and Dec. 21 to equal the most Freshman of the Week recognitions by a Lady Bulldog since Ashley Houts in the 2006-07 season.

Last week, James averaged 14.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.5 steals in victories over Kentucky and Florida.

James hit the game-winning three-pointer with 17 seconds remaining in overtime in the Lady Bulldogs’ 61-60 victory over the Wildcats on Thursday, and scored a game-high 17 points in Georgia’s 61-52 win over the Gators on Sunday.

Georgia (16-0) visits Vanderbilt at 8:00 p.m. Thursday.
