Gainesville resident Henson suspended from team

ATHENS University of Georgia junior free safety Donavon Baldwin and senior snapper Jeff Henson have been suspended indefinitely from the team by Bulldog head coach Mark Richt as a result of separate incidents early Saturday morning.

Henson, a Gainesville resident, was arrested on an alcohol related offense while Baldwin was involved and injured in an altercation in downtown Athens. He was treated at a local hospital.

“This is the second incident for both of these young men in the last year,” Richt said. “In my judgment their standing with the program is in question and they don’t deserve to report with the rest of our team on Sunday.”

Baldwin has not been a starter but has played in 20 games during his two-year career while Henson has been Georgia’s primary snapper on punts the last two seasons.
