The Gwinnett Braves mounted a two-run rally in the top of the ninth, but it wasn’t quite enough as the Charlotte Knights prevailed 7-6.

The G-Braves fall to 47-42 as the Knights improve to 40-47.

Charged with the loss was Gwinnett lefty Jonny Venters, who surrendered five earned runs on nine hits in 4 2/3 innings. Lucas Harrell earned his first win for the Knights, holding the G-Braves to two runs on three hits in five innings.

Norris Hopper paced the Knights with two runs and an RBI on a 2-for-3 night. Brent Lillibridge, Michael Restovich and Wilson Betemit all recorded two hits in the win.

Wes Timmons extended his International League-best on-base streak to 34 games by going 1-for-4 with a run, a walk and two RBI. Brandon Jones also posted two RBI.

G-Braves right-hander Todd Redmond (4-6, 5.30 ERA) is slated to face left-hander Wes Whisler (5-6, 3.45 ERA) at 7:15 tonight at Knights Stadium.
