Olivia Shaw, a 12-year-old from Flowery Branch, finished as runner-up in her age group during the Pitch, Hit and Run competition that was held during the MLB All-Star weekend July 10 at Marlins Park in Miami. 

Shaw represented the Atlanta Braves and advanced to the nationals after finishing as her age-group champion June 20 at SunTrust Park in Atlanta. Shaw was one of more than 625,000 youths who took part in 4,500 competitions in baseball or softball regionally throughout the US and Canada, per an MLB press release.
