East Hall didn’t have to look far to find a new head softball coach.
Anuel Burce will take over at the helm of the Vikings softball program after spending nine years as an assistant softball coach, according to an announcement made Friday by East Hall administration.
Burce — a Gillsville native and East Hall grad himself — spent 14 years as a firefighter/paramedic for Hall County Fire Services out of college before becoming a healthcare science teacher at East Hall Middle School.
Although Burce has nine years of experience at East Hall as an assistant softball coach and has spent 21 years as an assistant baseball coach for the Vikings, this will be his first opportunity to serve as a head coach for the high school he graduated from.
