Dream fall to Fever

INDIANAPOLIS — Tamika Catchings had 23 points and seven rebounds, and the Indiana Fever beat the Atlanta Dream 87-72 on Saturday night.

Katie Douglas and Tammy Sutton-Brown each had 21 points, marking the first time in franchise history that Indiana had three players score 20 or more points in the same game. Ebony Hoffman grabbed 14 rebounds for the Fever (13-15).

Indiana, which had dropped six of eight entering Saturday, was coming off the worst regular-season home loss in franchise history, 84-58 to Connecticut on Thursday.

Betty Lennox finished with 27 points and Erika DeSouza chipped in 15 for the Dream (3-26), who lost their seventh consecutive game.

Indiana led by as many as 19 points in the first half but allowed Atlanta to get within 70-62 on Iziane Castro Marques’ basket with 5:30 left in the game.

The Fever answered with a 7-2 run, including Sutton-Brown’s three-point play, for a 77-64 lead with 3 minutes remaining.
