The Luna’s Tuesday golf group played at Legacy on Lanier in Flowery Branch.
First place went to the team of Johnny Nix, Gene Weschler, and Doug Van, while second place went to the team of Royce Deaton, Stan Davidson Jr, and Don Rogers. Third place went to the team of Sam McGee, Bud Black, and Jim Cornett.
Closest to the pin winners were Steve Hill on No. 2, Deaton on No. 5, Larry Miller on No, 10 and McGee on No. 15.
CMGA: Eddie Johnson, Jimmy Johnson, Don Sorrell and Bill Ingram teamed up to win Thursday as the Chattahoochee Men’s Golf Association played a two best ball, aggregated net-points game at the Chattahoochee golf course.
The team of Carlyle Cox, Don Gage, Dave Long and Dick Bachman tied with Ed Pledger, Dave Gleason, Dick Freeman and Bud Clegg for second. Gary Palmer, Jere Cochran, Stu Virgin and Paul Payne teamed up for fourth.
Closest to the pin winners were Cochran (No. 3), Joe Kolesar (No. 15, No. 12) and Cox (No. 17).
CLGA: The Chattahoochee Ladies Golf Association played a low-gross, low-net event Tuesday at the Chattahoochee golf course.
First place in the low-gross competition went to Mona White. Ann Hollobaugh took second place with Peggy Hall finishing in third.
First place low-net winner was Nora Gleason. Jewell Floyd tied Joanne Stone for second. Closest to the pin winners were White on No. 3 and Hall on No. 17.
DOGFIGHT: The team of Walter Hope, Ted Archer, Karl Steigele and Yoko Komoto combined to card 16-under-par and win the Wednesday Dogfight at Chicopee Woods this week.
Second place went to Jim Arendt, Jerry Horton, Dub Chandler and Slatz Gaines with a net score of 10-under-par.
Hope tied Mark Black for the best individual score at 67. Arendt was third with a 69 and Roger Stapp and Archer tied for fourth at 70. Steigele, Don Schrum, Larry Miller and Chandler all fired a 71 to tie for sixth.
DPG: Charley Kilby won two of three matches this week as the DPG played Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at Chicopee Woods golf course.
On Monday, Kilby took first with a score of +7.
Billy Corbin was second with a +6 and Dwight Miller finished third with +3.
Kilby took first place individual honors again on Wednesday with a +3. Bob Kidd teamed with Horace Smallwood to take first in the team competition with a -1. Kilby also teamed with Dave Jetter to take second place with a score of -2.
Friday’s individual match was won by Steve Knowles with +1. Knowles teamed with Horace Smallwood to win the team event with a score of -3.
