Local golf: Luna's Tuesday group plays at Chattahoochee

The Luna’s Tuesday golf group played at Chattahoochee Golf Course this week. First place went to the team of Bud Black, Daryl Dunckel, Richard Strickland and Tommy Lowery.

Second place was the team of Stan Davidson, Jr., Tom Sexton, Jerry Johns and Cleve Brown. Third place was the team of Gene Weschler, Tommy Aaron, Johnny Nix and Don Rogers. Closest to the pin winners were Rogers (No. 3), Sexton (No. 5) and Strickland (No. 12 and No. 17).

CLGA: The Chattahoochee Ladies Golf Association hosted their annual Guys & Dolls tournament this week. The format was a team scramble.

The team of Joe Roberts, Mona White, Ann McMullan and Bebe Blount finished first. Second place was a tie between three teams and a winner was determined with a chip-off.

The winner of the chip-off was the team of Jere Cochran, Jim Hollobaugh and Carolyn Palmer. Closest to the pin winners were Jackie Sommerville (No. 3) and Mona White (No. 17).

CMGA: The Chattahoochee Men’s Golf Association played an Individual-flighted, net-strokes game Wednesday at the Chattahoochee Golf Course.

First place for the First Flight was a tie between Tom Sexton and Richard McClure. Paul Payne finished third. Fourth place was a tie between Gene Weschler, Ed Pledger and Roy Bartlett.

The winner of the Second Flight was Denny Momper. Don Gage finished second. Third place went to Bob Pyne. Fourth place was a tie between Don Sorrell and Bill Oliver, and sixth place was a tie between Ben Brooks and Gary Palmer. J.B. Johnston won the Third Flight.

Second place went to Nick Grillo. Harmon Smith finished third. Bruce Doll finished fourth. Fifth place went to Dave Long, and Jim VanDyke finished sixth.

Closest to the pin winners were Don Thomas (No. 3), Tom Sexton (No. 5), Don Sorrell (No. 12) and Don Gage (No. 17).
