The DPG played matches Monday, Wednesday and Friday this week at Chicopee Woods Golf Course. Monday, Ken Lightfoot took first place with a score of +5, while Steve Knowles placed second with a +4.

Wednesday’s individual competition was won by Horace Smallwood with a +6. Smallwood also teamed with Terrence Dale to take first place in the team event with a +6. The team of Jordan and Jerry Shell finished in second with a -1.

Charley Kilby won Friday’s individual match with a +5, while Knowles and Smallwood took first place in the team competition with a +3.

CMGA: The Chattahoochee Men’s Golf Association played its annual two man teams championship on Wednesday and Thursday at Chattahoochee Golf Course. There was also a two-flight individual tournament for non-team players Wednesday.

First place in the two-man event went to the Leroy Harper and Eddie Johnson with a net score of 107. Dick Bachman and Ron Bachman carded a net score of 117 for second place.

In the individual first-flight tournament, Bob Henderson took first place, while Richard McClure finished second and Paul Payne finished in third. The second flight was won by Greg Taira with Dave Long, Larry Jewett and Bob Watson each tying for second.

Wednesday’s closest to the pin winners were Doug Van on No. 3, Harry Barnett on No. 5, Bud Clegg on No. 12 and Carlyle Cox on No. 17. Thursday’s closest to the pin winners were Ron Bachman on No. 3, Harper on No. 5, Dave White on No. 12 and Joe Kolesar on No. 17.

DOGFIGHT: The Wednesday Dogfight was held at Chicopee Woods Golf Course this week. With a score of 20-under par, the team of Mark Black, Lou Vega, Tommy Calhoun and Lori Clark took first place. Greg Lee, Roger Stapp, Jerry Horton and Keith Fitzgerald teamed up for a 19-under par, second-place finish.

Stapp took home individual first-place honors with a 66, with Clark finishing in second with a 67. 

LUNA: The Luna’s Tuesday Golf Group played at Royal Lakes this week. First place went to the team of Don Rogers, Gene Weschler, Al Raynes and Cleve Brown. The team of Steve Hill, Jerry Johns, Chad Pierce and Tommy Lowery placed second.

Closest to the pin winners were Sam McGee on No. 4, Jimmy Harritos on No. 8, Juan Luna on No. 14 and Rogers on No. 16.

CLGA: The Chattahoochee Ladies Golf Association played a low gross, low net, low putt event Tuesday at Chattahoochee Golf Course.

In the first flight, Ann Holobaugh won the low gross with Peggy Hall placing second while Mona White won the low net, with Sue Cronmiller finishing in second. Joanne Stone won the low gross of the second flight, with Riki Stroud placing second. Low net was won by Jewell Floyd with Nora Gleason placing second.

Hall and Holobaugh tied for first in the low putt. Closest to the pin winners were White on No. 3 and Stroud on No. 17.
