Local golf: Holleman shoots hole-in-one

Bill Holleman shot a hole-in-one on Friday at the No. 2 Mill hole at Chicopee Woods Golf Course. Holloman completed the feat using a Titleist Pro V1 club and a Titleist PW ball. Witnesses to the act were Don Sonell and Frederick Reed.

CMGA: The Chattahoochee Men’s Golf Association played a two best ball, aggregated net points game last Wednesday at the Chattahoochee Golf Course.

Joe Kolesar, Dave Gleason, Don Sorrell and Wayne Nelson finished in first place. Don Gage, Ed Pledger, Stu Virgin and Ken Uyl and Dick Bachman, A.J. Kiker, Roy Lyle and Rolf Legbandt tied for second place. Bill Sutton, Clay Bartlett, Holleman and Joe Cronmiller came in fourth.

Closest to the pin winners were Karl Goellner (No. 3), Bartlett (No. 5), Gleason (No. 12) and Bachman (No. 17).

DOGFIGHT: Tommy Calhoun and Bob Arendt won the two best ball net game at the Wednesday dogfight last week at Chicopee Woods Golf Course. The teams of Roger Stapp and Vince Jonte and Jerry Horton and Yoko Komoto tied for second place. Individually, Arendt finished in first place, Komoto took second, and Horton was third.

DPG: The Dedicated Players Group played matches on Monday, Wednesday and Friday last week at Chicopee Woods Golf Course. On Monday, Norm Phillips won the event, Horace Smallwood came in second, and Dewey Alverson was third. Steve Knowles and Al Crego tied for first on Wednesday, and Dave Jetter was second. Jetter finished in first place on Friday, and Denis Jordan, Charley Kilby, Terrence Dale and Jerry Shell all tied for second place.
