Truett McConnell’s Andretti Loyd was named the best Freshman Player in the Southern States Athletic Conference at its postseason banquet on Wednesday in Montgomery, Ala. Only one player receives the award out of the 14 member colleges and universities which cover the Southeastern United States. Loyd averaged 13.7 points on the season while shooting 42 percent from behind the 3-point line.
