Flowery Branch High graduate Maurice Riden was part of the Emmanuel College 3200-meter relay team that earned National Christian College Athletic Association honors by winning the event with a time of 7-minutes, 56.15 seconds at the championship meet in Cedarville, Ohio.

Also on the team were Carson Massey, Ethan Alexander and Leonel Ayala.

The team from Emmanuel College won the race by more than six seconds over the second place team in the event, narrowly missing the NCCAA record held by a team from Bryan College in 2008.

With the win, the four freshman from Emmanuel College will also compete at the NAIA Indoor Nationals Thursday in Ohio.

Currently, the relay squad from Emmanuel College holds the 14th fastest time in NAIA.
