North Hall graduate and Truett-McConnell freshman Chris Stevens threw five solid innings for the baseball team in a 9-3 win against Point University in a double-header on Wednesday.
Truett-McConnell broke the first game open in the third inning, sending 11 men to the plate and scoring seven times. Shortstop Hayden Fleming got the action started with a bases-clearing, three-RBI double.
With the win Stevens improved his record on the season to 2-0.
The Bears lost the second game of the double-header.
Truett-McConnell visits Hattiesburg, Miss., to open Southern States Athletic Conference play against William Carey.
