North Georgia softball sweeps Mars Hill

The No. 3-ranked Saints softball team used a no-hitter from Jessica Coan and seven home runs to sweep Mars Hill on Wednesday afternoon, 6-0 and 10-2 at Ponder Field.

North Georgia (6-0) has now started off the season with six straight wins for the third consecutive season.

In the first game, Coan threw seven innings for her first collegiate no-hitter, while only allowing two base-runners all game. She struck out 10 batters in the game.

The Saints travel to Decatur, Ala., to take part in the 2012 Ringor University of Alabama-Huntsville Charger Chillout. While there, North Georgia will play six games in three days, including three against teams ranked in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Top 25 poll.
