North Georgia College & State University men’s basketball team escaped with an 87-83 victory over Truett-McConnell on Tuesday night, in large part to 29 points and 12 rebounds from Scott Windom at Memorial Hall.
The Saints (3-1) led by seven at the half and extended the lead to double digits before the visiting Bears (4-2) clawed back into contention.
Truett-McConnell’s Roderick Bombard shot a 3-pointer with 10 seconds remaining and trailing by three. The ball rimmed out and the Saints corralled the rebound.
North Georgia will play 2nd-ranked Alabama-Huntsville on Friday and host West Florida on Saturday in the West Florida Thanksgiving Classic.
