The Young Harris College women’s basketball team recorded a season high in points, defeating Hiwasse College 84-46 on Thursday in Young Harris.

Nikki Winn, a Towns County High graduate, led the Lady Mountain Lions (8-12) with 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting. Breanna Gleeson scored 14 points, while LaDondra Johnson added 14 points and eight rebounds. Lauren Smith scored all 12 of her points in the second half.

The Lady Mountain Lions return to action against King College at 2  p.m. Saturday at the YHC Basketball Arena.

YOUNG HARRIS MEN 94, HIWASSEE COLLEGE 72: Led by Steve Viterbo’s eighth double-double of the season, the Mountain Lions won Thursday in Young Harris.

Viterbo scored 28 points on 12-of-18 shooting and tied a career high in rebounds with 16. Bryson Robertson finished with a career-high 20 points to go along with 12 rebounds for Young Harris (5-17), which hosts Brevard College at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
