The North Georgia College & State University softball team picked up two more wins on Tuesday, sweeping Georgia College 2-1 and 8-1 in a Peach Belt Conference doubleheader.
Melissa Dickie (12-0) struck out six while only allowing five hits and one earned run in Game 1 for the Lady Saints (35-7, 9-3 PBC) keeping her perfect record intact.
Senior Pilar Harden picked up both RBIs for North Georgia, going 2 for 3 at the plate.
Harden led again with three RBIs in Game 2 for the Lady Saints, despite only finishing with one hit. Krysten Connelly (2-1) allowed just one earned run for North Georgia to earn her second win of the season.
The No. 13-ranked Saints have now won five consecutive games, including two sweeps over Augusta State and Georgia College.
North Georgia Coach Mike Davenport picked up his 500th career victory with the sweep. The milestone was reached in just over 12 years. He has averaged 40 wins per season in his tenure at North Georgia.
Harden, Jessica Coan and Hilary Cox were all honored after the game as part of the 2012 Lady Saints senior night celebrations.
The class will leave as one of the most successful in school history. They combined for a Peach Belt record of 63-7 so far, with games still remaining on the schedule. North Georgia will host UNC Pembroke at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Thursday night in a doubleheader.
