After setting a school record for wins in a season in the NCAA era and reaching the Peach Belt Conference Tournament Championship Game last season, the North Georgia College & State University women’s soccer team has been picked to finish third in the PBC for the second consecutive year.
The Lady Saints went 14-5-1 a year ago and return six starters, including junior forward Kelsey Martin who was the 2009 PBC Freshman of the Year and was in the PBC’s 2010 top ten for goals and points. Also returning is senior midfielder Natalie Douglass who scored seven goals a year ago. Both were named preseason All-Conference.
North Georgia will begin its regular season at 4 p.m. on Sept. 2 at the school’s Soccer Complex, as the Lady Saints host Lees-McRae College.
