The University of North Georgia softball team had four players land on the National Fastpitch Coaches Association’s 2017 Division II All-Region Southeast team.

That mark was the highest for any school in the Southeast and tied for fifth-most in the nation. Sydney Sprague, Kylee Smith and Stephanie Hartness all earned first-team nods, while Alishia Frierson was a member of the second team.

Sprague is currently the Nighthawks’ home run leader with 13 and is batting .371. Smith, meanwhile, led the Peach Belt Conference in ERA, strikeouts and wins and was honored as the PBC Tournament’s MVP.

Hartness garnered her second straight first team All-Region accolade. Her .429 batting average is tops among North Georgia players, and she leads the conference in slugging percentage by more than 40 points.

Frierson is hitting .382 with 16 doubles this season.
