Gainesville graduate Jaymee Carnes was named the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week on Monday.
This is the third time this season that Carnes has earned the honor, and she is only one of two players to earn the honor multiple times.
Carnes continued her dominant play last week, averaging 26.5 points per game and 10.5 rebounds per game.
Through Monday, Carnes continues to lead the conference and the nation in scoring. Her 25.8-point average is just two-tenths shy of the PBC record for scoring average in a season set by Kennesaw State’s Joanna Cuprys in the 1996-97 season.
Carnes also leads the league and is ranked fourth nationally in blocks (3.2 per game) and is second in the conference in rebounding (10.9).
