Brenau University's Kathleen Daniel named NAIA Pitcher of the Week

Brenau University’s Kathleen Daniel was named NAIA National Pitcher of the Week.

Daniel finished this past week with four wins, including a no-hitter against Coastal Georgia. She pitched 28 innings, allowing only two runs with 36 strikeouts and four walks.

Currently, Daniel leads the NAIA in strikeouts from the circle (333), hits allowed per game (2) and wins (22).

Collectively, Daniel is 22-2 with a 0.36 ERA and has helped her team to a No. 8 national ranking in the first 2017 NAIA Softball Coaches’ Poll.

She was also named Southern States Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week for the fifth consecutive week in a row.

Brenau visits Bethel University on Friday in McKenzie, Tenn.
