Five Brenau University athletic teams have been named by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics as scholar teams for the 2009-10 year. Brenau’s cross country, soccer, softball, swimming and tennis teams were among the 857 teams nationwide to earn the distinction.

For a team to be considered for the NAIA Scholar Team award, it must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the institution. The team grade point average must include all varsity student-athletes certified to be eligible for competition.
