College scoreboard: UNG women's tennis team notches 6-3 win against Young Harris

Adrienne Bofinger won in No. 2 singles (6-2, 6-1) to lead the University of North Georgia women’s tennis team to a 6-3 win against Young Harris on Friday in Dahlonega.

Holly Bennett got the win in No. 3 singles (6-2, 7-6) for North Georgia, while teammate Vaishali Jorge won in No. 4 singles (2-6, 6-4, 7-5). Cibeles Zuddy was the No. 5 singles winner (6-3. 7-5) for the Nighthawks. Bennett/Jorge won the No. 1 doubles match (8-4). Felicia Baratta/Bofinger won the No. 2 doubles match.

North Georgia takes on Lander University at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Greenwood, South Carolina.

YOUNG HARRIS MEN 5, UNIVERSITY OF NORTH GEORGIA 4: Niklas Zielen won in No. 1 singles (6-2, 6-1) for North Georgia. 

Tim Kiehl was the No. 3 singles winner (3-6, 6-3, 6-2) for the Nighthawks. Zack Waldow won the No. 5 singles match (6-4, 6-4) for UNG, while teammate Kevin Candido won the No. 6 singles match (6-0, 1-6, 7-5).

North Georgia faces Lander University at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Greenwood, South Carolina.


UNIVERSITY OF NORTH GEORGIA 4, AUGUSTA 1: Conner Corbitt had an RBI for North Georgia. Bill LeRoy, Jake Arnold and Joshua Profit all had an RBI apiece for the Nighthawks.

North Georgia faces Augusta at 4 p.m. today in Augusta.
