McCann to replace injured Freeman in All-Star game

ATLANTA — Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman will not play in the All-Star game after jamming his left thumb. General manager Frank Wren said Sunday that Freeman's injury will keep him out of the game. Catcher Brian McCann was named to replace Freeman on the NL All-Star team by manager Bruce Bochy.
