No. 2 Buford vs. Jones County

When: 7:30 p.m. tonight

Where: Tom Riden Stadium, Buford

Records: Buford (10-1); Jones County (7-4)

Game notes: Buford and Jones County will be playing each other for the first time tonight. While Buford is in the second round of the playoffs for the 18th consecutive season, the Greyhounds are in the Round of 16 for just the third time since 2001. The Wolves have played for the state championship every season since 2007. Jones County has not made it any further than the quarterfinals, in which it lost to Mays, 44-41, in 2014. Greyhounds senior quarterback Bradley Hunnicutt has thrown for 2,549 yards and 18 touchdowns this season, but has also thrown eight interceptions. Junior running back Drake Bolus has rushed for 919 yards and 15 scores.

Who to watch: Running back Anthony Grant has rushed for 1,239 yards and 21 touchdowns this season. T.D. Roof, Christian Turner and Derrian Brown each have eight rushing scores on the year.

No. 4 Jefferson vs. West Laurens

When: 7:30 p.m. tonight

Where: Memorial Stadium, Jefferson

Records: Jefferson (10-1); West Laurens (7-4)

Game notes: The Dragons and Raiders have never played each other. Jefferson is back in the second round for the fifth-straight season where they bowed out last year against eventual state runner-up Blessed Trinity. The Raiders are back in the Round of 16 for the third-straight year. In 2015, West Laurens lost on the road against St. Pius X to be knocked from the playoffs. Jefferson made a clean sweep through the region schedule, with its only loss of the season coming at the hands of now-No. 2 Thomson. West Laurens went 3-2 in Region 2-AAAA with losses to Mary Persons and Upson-Lee.

Who to watch: Junior running back Colby Wood has amassed 1,332 yards for 17 touchdowns this season for the Dragons. Freshman quarterback Colby Clark has picked up 571 for eight scores and senior running back Zack Boobas has covered 552 for 14 scores.
