ATLANTA — Warren Singletary scored on a pair of short touchdown runs and Hawkinsville defeated Irwin County, 15-6, for the Georgia High School Association Class A-Public state football title on Friday at the Georgia Dome. It was the sixth championship for Hawkinsville (13-1), which won back-to-back titles in 2003 and 2004. Singletary scored from a yard out in the third quarter after a 3-yard touchdown in the second quarter, with both scores coming after bad snaps on punt attempts by Irwin County (11-2-1).
