Habersham Central quarterback Cole Wilbanks was 15 of 24 for 207 yards with two touchdown passes and one rushing score in the Raiders’ 21-14 victory Friday night over Franklin County in Mount Airy.
Aaron Wood finished the night with six receptions for 91 yards for Habersham, now 3-0 after a 1-9 season in 2015.
Dawson Landers racked up 12 tackles and Carson Taylor added 11 tackles for the Raiders’ defense.
The game was tied 14-14 in the fourth quarter. Habersham was marching downfield when Wilbanks connected with Jake Jones for a touchdown with 2:25 left to go.
The Raiders defense stopped Franklin County on the 1-yard line with 40 seconds left in the game to seal the victory.
Habersham Central visits Stephens County in Toccoa on Friday.
