East Jackson held on to a season-opening 28-27 win over White County on Friday night in Cleveland.
The Warriors outgained East Jackson 312-250 in total offense, but a fumpled snap on the extra point with 7:41 to go in the fourth quarter was the difference Friday in Cleveland.
As a team White County rushed for 259 yards and were led on the ground by senior Ryan Kennedy. Kennedy had 129 yards on 19 attempts. Kennedy also caught a 29-yard touchdown pass.
Andrew London added 60 yards and a touchdown on the ground.
The Warriors' Dalton Whitfield had two touchdowns on runs of 4 and 6 yards.
Will Brock had a touchdown pass and 56 yards while going 5-of-6 passing for White County.
The Warriors travel to Gainesville for a game with the Red Elephants at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
