Why in the world do the people in Washington not see the importance of exploring and drilling for crude in the Americas?

Before the Alaska pipeline was built all we heard was how it would destroy the wildlife and foliage. That pipeline is strictly monitored daily by air and ground. And wildlife has actually increased since the pipeline was built.

Other countries are drilling just out from our boundaries offshore. I know the importance of keeping the environment clean and not allowing careless exploration and drilling. Thanks to the Keep America Green organizations, that is taken very seriously these days.

And yes, we must look at other types of energy to operate our vehicles and machinery. Even if we start exploring today for new sites, I understand it would be years before we will realize the benefits. But we must start ASAP.

The Middle East is the most unstable area in the world. Those countries are holding this country and others hostage because everything depends on their oil. Anyone who agrees with me, please let our congressional and state legislators know your opinion.
