It seems we are in dire need of new commissioners this November, especially those with some backbone and integrity.
Commissioner Ashley Bell stated in a Times article Feb. 23, "It is a matter of integrity." In my opinion, there is little, if any, integrity on the commission board. It is apparent that one commissioner runs the show in Hall County. How else does a library get moved from Clermont with land acquired there for that purpose to Nopone Road?
How does water in the 1980s appear on the road where this commissioner owns land and lives at Chestnut Mountain? Then with SPLOST funds, it appears sewer will also be placed on the same road. Weird, huh? I have been trying to get water down Holland Dam Road for 39 years, to no avail.
My point is made with the last incident with Chairman Tom Oliver admitting to an underhanded deal he made using taxpayer monies for his own benefit and wants to continue the same. He needs to be gone - I mean thrown out of office.
If you, Hall County taxpayers, do not scream for his resignation or recall and sit by like you have done in the past and allow such, you deserve to have your taxes go up to pay for idiotic deals Oliver makes. Can we trust those whom this commissioner controls?
Folks, wake up and smell the roses and let's vote those into office in November who have a backbone whom this commissioner cannot control and who will work for the taxpayers of Hall County instead of the interest of one man.
