I appreciate the paper recognizing very deserving cross country athletes in your Dec. 27 edition. However, I was disappointed that you failed to mention the Dawson County girls team that won Region 8-AA and finished fourth at state. Madalyn Walters and Emily Beusse led a fine group of young ladies who represent our area very well during, and outside, meets.

The returning team members hold great promise for the future. These ladies deserve a tip of the cap from our community.
