Regarding abortion, Joan King is right about a couple of things, it is a political issue and it is a public issue. She says the law cannot stop abortion; however, the law can stop legal abortions, which in effect would stop most abortions. But she avoids the basic issue:
It is a moral issue. The matter of abortion is usually not about health nor about a difficult pregnancy. Likewise, I have to assume that most pregnant women know what causes pregnancy. So we can correctly assume it is not about unintended pregnancy.
Abortion is not about a woman’s choice. I quite frankly could care less what a women "does with her body." She can pierce her nose, tattoo her backside, or smoke dope. Abortion is about the killing of a child, a helpless child who has no choice in the matter. It is an irresponsible abomination upon the landscape of America. There is one legitimate case in which an abortion decision has to be made; this is when the life of the mother or child is in danger. Then the decision must be made by the mother, father and doctor.
Ms. King mentions the Bill of Rights and Constitution. Don’t hold your breath while someone points out the provision which allows for the murder, i.e., abortion of children.
