To the East Hall High School faculty and staff:

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for all the support and encouragement that you’ve given to our Matt-Matt. During the past four years under your guidance, we’ve watched him grow from a young teenager into a confident young man. You all have been so wonderful to him and we will always be eternally grateful.

For those of you who aren’t aware, Matt and his sister Christian have Down syndrome. I was very relieved to see how the students at East Hall had taken them under their wings and gone out of their way to accept and help them when we moved here six years ago. It was obvious I had worried about the transition needlessly. I couldn’t help but notice that there were an increasing number of students that would stop and say hello to Matt over the past four years.

To the Class of 2014: You guys rock! The response he received when he walked across that stage Thursday night was absolutely amazing! We were completely overwhelmed by the love and support these students have shown him. We had no idea the extent of his popularity at school.

To the East Hall High School Vikings and the Class of 2014, we give a big “Oo-rah!” and a resounding “Amen!” You will always have our utmost respect, support, and our hearts.

May God bless you always.

Matt, Christian, Kim and Ken Silvers
