I am writing to express my support for continuing the education sales tax on the Nov. 3 local ballot. I also want to encourage citizens to vote early now through Oct. 30 at the Hall County Government Center.

Based on its overwhelming approval on four previous ballots since 1997, the E-SPLOST has been very popular with our community and local schools. E-SPLOST has funded construction and technology to help our schools educate and prepare our next generation. At the same time, E-SPLOST has allowed Hall County and Gainesville schools to become debt-free for the first time in at least 50 years. That is a fact worth celebrating and a clear reason to continue voting “yes” for the next E-SPLOST.
