Parade had more ads than respect for our soldiers

I am writing in regards to the Memorial Day parade this year. I was disgraced to stand next to my grandfather, who is a World War II veteran, and watch this parade full of advertisements go on.

Where was the homage for our veterans? Most of the parade was filled with passing out flyers for businesses. What does that have to do with Memorial Day? I thought it was disrespectful that our veterans were not the spotlight of the parade.

I think changes need to be made next year. This day is about recognizing the ones that gave some and the some that gave all. It's about our country, what we fight for, but most importantly, those who fought for us.
