Dont confuse vote for school sales tax with other in March
Placeholder Image

I would like to clear up some confusion about the upcoming E-SPLOST vote on the November ballot.

Some people mistakenly think that we have already voted for SPLOST this year, and they are half-right. Back in March of this year, the voters in Gainesville and Hall County approved passage of the SPLOST that pays for general infrastructure projects such as road repairs, public safety equipment, and water and sewer needs. The other penny sales tax is the education sales tax or E-SPLOST, which is what we will decide Nov. 3. It pays for education expenses such as school building renovations, teaching supplies, and new schools.

I hope everyone will vote “yes” to keep the E-SPLOST in place so we can continue to fund our schools with a minimal burden on the property owners in Hall County.
