So community and political organizers in the Latino and African-American communities have begun a push for district voting in Gainesville. Arturo Corso said, “I think a solidification of black and brown communities as one alliance with a common goal is absolutely essential to move forward.” Jerry Gonzalez, executive director of Georgia Association of Latino Elected Officials, chimed in with, “It is for the benefit of all the citizens of Gainesville.”
